This stylus is designed to fit the Grado Prestige 1 Silver Moving Magnet Cartridge and is a direct replacement for when your current stylus is worn. This is a more economical solution rather than replacing the whole cartridge. Cartridges generally last many hours before the stylus needs to be replaced. An indication that your stylus needs replacing and is getting worn is generally a duller sound.
