Stax SR-007MK2 Earspeaker

The STAX SR-007MK2 Headphones are the updated version of the classic SR-007 "Omega II", with a black finish and a slightly different driver. The sound is the warmest, most luscious of any STAX, with emphasis on the mid-to-lower frequencies with no loss of high-end detail. It is a more relaxed sound signature compared to the more detailed SR-009.

To maintain a clear, distortion-free sound, it is paramount that nothing but the diaphragm vibrates. Inside the STAX SR-007MK2, the sound element is encased in a thick insulated resin housing that is securely attached to the rigid body. The results are nothing short of spectacular.

Optimal comfort for maximum enjoyment of your STAX SR-007MK2 is equipped with ear cushions that can be completely adjusted to the shape of your head. Stax Japan refers to its electrostatic headphone designs as "ear speakers." The electrostatic transducer in a Stax Earspeaker consists of two "parallel fixed electrodes", between which is suspended a low-mass, high-polymer film less than 2 µm thick. Simply put, it is a push-pull driver system. When the fluctuating voltage of the audio signal is applied to the electrodes, the diaphragm is pulled and pushed.
