Moonriver Audio Model 404 Reference
After the overwhelming success of The Moonriver Model 404, we decided to take it a step further by improving the already excellent design of the standard 404.
The nutrition part has been improved to the maximum. The 404 Reference power supply uses 10.7000µF, of which 21,000µF is reserved for the preamplifier only. This enormous capacity ensures a large drive; the dynamic character; lets you hear even more detail, a deeper and more articulate sound image. The space between the instruments is enormous, while the bass has more body.
Moonriver had a very clear vision when coming up with the Model 404 Reference amp: Classic design with a modern touch; premium materials such as oversized aluminum controls, solid walnut sides, sturdy chassis and an ergonomic user interface. There is no 'for show' aesthetic here, no display with complicated serial menus and hidden functions, nor a single multifunction button for 'minimalist' purposes. The heart of Model 404 is pure and minimal, but the interface is user-oriented and easy for anyone to operate in seconds, without having to consult the owner's manual. Four buttons and three switches give instant access to each function.
Add to that the possibility to build in a USB-DAC and an MM/MC phono module now or later, what more could you want to have?
