Overview

The body of the MC Verismo is made of titanium and manufactured according to the Selective Laser Melting (SLM) process.
This technique was developed by Ortofon in 2008 and was first applied in the MC A90 element.

Since then, this technique has been refined in subsequent models in the so-called Exclusive Series.
The SLM technology goes beyond traditional techniques and is seen as a breakthrough in the production process of the body of cartridges.
Layer by layer, superfine particles of titanium are welded together to create a body that consists of one whole.
The SLM technique provides a unique and very precise control over the density, creating an extremely high damping capacity in the body, free of any resonances.
Furthermore, the use of titanium ensures extremely high structural rigidity, lighter weight and superior dynamic properties, allowing the MC Verismo to be placed in a variety of tonearms.

Like all cartridges in the Exclusive Series, the MC Verismo uses an Ortofon Replicant 100 diamond.
The narrow, large contact surface of this stylus is closest to the shape of the cutting tool used in the creation of the master record die.
In this way, the most accurate reproduction, the lowest degree of distortion and a wide frequency range are achieved.
The use of a cantilever, which is also constructed entirely of diamond and therefore has the same properties in stiffness and structure, ensures the best possible interface between the needle tip and armature.
This technique has further pushed the boundaries of analogue sound reproduction. The magnet system is based on an extremely strong and compact neodymium magnet, which allows the generator to remain compact and light. The use of Aucurum coils, extremely pure gold-plated copper, means that the transfer can be called 'lossless'.

Cartridges in the Exclusive Series are equipped with techniques developed and patented by Ortofon.
The application of a Field Stabilizing Element (FSE), a small cylinder of conductive material, strategically placed in the magnet system, provides improved channel separation and significantly reduced distortion.
The Wide Range Damping System (WRD), a small disc of pure platinum between the rubber dampers, provides improved tracking and damping.
New for the MC Verismo are rubber dampers with a new composition, based on Multi Wall Carbon Nano Tubes (MWCNT), which reduces drying and aging of the damping.
