REGA Planar 3 Anniversary Edition
Rega is celebrating their 50th anniversary by offering a special edition of their renowned Rega Planar 3 turntable. This turntable package is specifically designed to enhance the performance of this model. The 50th Anniversary Planar 3 is available in the popular new walnut effect finish and is fitted with a manually tuned Neo PSU MK2 and a handmade Rega Exact moving magnet cartridge, which is pre-installed at the factory. The drive system uses the Reference EBLT drive belt and a 24V motor with a custom CNC machined aluminum drive pulley for the best possible performance and accuracy. The exclusive aluminum plinth and lid badges add a final touch to the Anniversary Edition.
The Rega Record Player
The RB330 tonearm is the result of over 35 years of experience in tonearm design and uses the latest 3D CAD & CAM technology. The new bearing housing and tonearm-tube design intelligently redistribute weight, reducing potential resonance points. The new precision bearings provide stability and near-frictionless movement for superior vinyl playback.
The walnut effect, laminated plinth features a lightweight and rigid design pioneered by Rega, featuring a highly rigid phenolic resin skin over a lightweight particle core. The on/off switch is ergonomically positioned for convenience.
The 24V low noise precision motor and PCB assembly features a custom CNC machined aluminum pulley. The patented brass center bearing has been improved in fit and construction to reduce stress on the bearing.
The 50th Anniversary Planar 3 uses Rega's double brace technology, with a 3mm phenolic resin lower brace and a metal upper brace. This lightweight laminated plinth is reinforced where necessary between the tonearm mount and the main bearing housing to form a structure that can withstand stress. This design prevents energy absorption and unwanted resonance while reducing mass absorption and unwanted energy transmission.
The advanced Neo MK2 PSU gives users control over fine speed adjustment, advanced anti-vibration motor circuitry and electronic speed change. It reduces motor noise, improves speed stability and rotational speed accuracy.
